Another local photographic competition has come to our attention:

This year SEPA will once again be attending the Royal Highland Show on 21-24 June 2012, along with our SEARS partners. To mark the event, we are launching a photo competition based on the theme of the tent which is ‘Valuing Scotland’s natural environment’.

So we are on the look out for your pictures of the Scottish environment. It can be photos of anything… related to our beautiful environment, from woodland, beaches, mountains, rivers or farmland, the choice is yours!

For your chance to win one of our fabulous prizes, please post your photographs on our Facebook wall with details of where the picture was taken.

The prizes are:
First prize -£100 Amazon voucher and a pair of Royal Highland Show tickets.
Second prize -£50 Amazon voucher and a pair Royal Highland Show tickets.
Third prize – A pair of Royal Highland Show tickets.

We are a fan of Historic Scotland here at PK and we want to share their photo competition with you lot!

Charity Skydive

I was asked to shoot my friends’ daughter skydive, the brave woman. We turned up early in the hope she would be first, but ended up she went last! The nerves were starting to kick in so to fill in the time until her jump we went to nearby Leslie, where we had a wee bit to eat in a small cafe with no public toilet (not sure that is legal!). Anyway the charity this was all in the aid of was SANDS (stillborn and neonatal death charity- yes I know that spells sandc). I great cause and a cause close to their hearts. After some training and a lot of joking form the great staff at the base at fife airport (didn’t get the name of the actual company, sorry) it was up up and away, raising about £1000 for the charity. Well done, great job!

Sportive St. Andrews – PK are the photographers!

PK is delighted to announce that they are the official photographers for the upcoming Sportive St. Andrews road cycling event.

A Fantastic Sportive ride around the picturesque East Neuk of Fife & taking in some of the Kingdoms finest lung bursting hills & fast flowing decents. The courses are both challenging and enjoyable. All ameneties are on hand with Start & Finish within the Grounds of Madras College St Andrews.

The ride will take place on Sunday the 26′th of August 2012 & will raise money for both Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland & Madras College’s Cycling programme.

The routes vary from 45 miles to 65 miles to 80 miles so you will be need to be in shape to pull it off but it’s all in aid of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, so well worth it They even provide soup and cake – if I wasn’t photographing, i’d be partaking in the soup…

Beautiful Perth keeping Perth Beautiful

The Weather has been pretty horrid and I’ve not really been able to go out much with the camera due to snow, sleet, hail and rain with only the very occasional spells of sunshine. However the lovely Beautiful Perth people were going to do a scheduled litter pick regardless and had asked me to come and take a few photos for them to show the work they do. I meet them at the Bridgend car park and followed them through the rain as they worked hard and kept smiling. It was quite surprising how much litter there was, including needles and a rather old Marathon bar wrapper (remember them, they turned into Snickers 15 or 20 years ago!). It really is quite disgusting that people can have so little consideration and respect for everyone else. Is it really that hard to use a bin or take your litter home?? Well here’s the photos to show what some very nice people will do in order to clean up after the inconsiderate people in this world. I will also like to point out that all these people are volunteers and do not get paid a penny for looking after this city.
